St Ignatius Catholic School recorded two 4-0 victories in the CUC Primary Football League (PFL), as a reduced schedule of matches took place during the schools’ mid-term break.
St Ignatius’ Under-9 team defeated Cayman Prep 9B, on Saturday, 17 October, with Kingston Leslie scoring twice in the opening two minutes. Ronald Bolt and James Ingram added goals in the 17th and 21st minutes.
The school’s Under-11 team also secured a 4-0 win, against Cayman Prep 11B.
In the Under-11 girls’ league, Cayman Prep GB travelled to face St Ignatius with no substitutes available. Despite their depleted squad, Prep GB put up a strong fight and scored a goal before losing 3-1.

Elsewhere in Group A Under-9 action, Island Primary 9A beat Marie Martin Primary 4-0, while Sir John A Cumber Primary 9A defeated Cayman Prep 9C 3-0.
Marie Martin Primary claimed a 4-0 victory over Island Primary 11B in the other Under-11 fixture.
In Group B, Cayman Brac defeated Red Bay Primary 3-1 in the Under-11 division.
The match was arranged with assistance from the Sports Association of the Sister Islands and Cayman Brac coaches, allowing Red Bay to travel to Cayman Brac despite flight disruption associated with the mid-term break.
No primary school football matches are scheduled for Saturday, 24 October. The leagues will resume on 31 October when schools return to session.
The results were shared in a press release from the Cayman Youth Football Leagues, which coordinate the PFL and Girls’ Primary Football League (GPFL).
It thanked Progressive Distributors and Gatorade for their continued support, as well as Winners Circle for supporting youth referees.
