A 2,000-foot-long haunted trail featuring 32 scare zones is bringing a new Halloween adventure to Grand Cayman, with proceeds supporting local charities.
‘Nightmare on North Sound: Escape the asylum’, presented by Home Gas, is being held at a new venue on Safehaven Drive, opposite North Sound Golf Club.

Visitors are challenged to escape a haunted asylum before encountering graveyards, sinister clowns, pirates and a Minotaur maze.
The annual event, which started in 2020, combines live scare actors, elaborate sets, lighting and sound effects to immerse visitors in a series of frightening scenes.
“Imagine stepping into a scary movie – except this time, you’re part of the story!” John Corallo, general manager of Home Gas, told Cayman Independent.
“This year, we haven’t just changed the location – we’re changing the whole adventure.”
The event sees Home Gas working alongside other local businesses, charitable organisations and volunteers to raise money for good causes.
Beneficiaries include the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman, Eco Divers Reef Foundation, Cayman Islands Humane Society, Cayman Drama Society, Philippine Sports and Social Club, and Cayman Islands Corsairs.
Corallo said the event relies on a core group of volunteers who work throughout the year on its design, construction and performances, alongside Home Gas staff and other community supporters.
He highlighted Marcos Montana of Rotary as the first person outside Home Gas to get involved, helping to establish confidence in the project, and Aaron and Brittany of Eco Divers, who have been involved since the early stages. Aaron contributes to the design and construction as well as performing as a scare actor.
Students from John Gray High School and the University College of the Cayman Islands have also supported the event through acting, while volunteers and sponsors help bring the sets and characters to life.

For families with younger children, the event offers a gentler opening period from 6:30pm to 7pm, when visitors can explore the sets without active scares.
At 7pm, the scare actors begin their performances and the experience becomes more intense.
“Nightmare is a chance to get your friends together, leave the ordinary behind, and enjoy the suspense, the surprises and the laughter afterwards,” Corallo said.
“But what makes Nightmare special is the purpose behind it. This is our community coming together to support local charities.
“For us at Home Gas, it is about creating unforgettable memories while making a difference right here in Cayman.”
The remaining scheduled dates are 29, 30 and 31 October, with the event running from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
Tickets are available at the entrance only, priced at CI$25 for adults and $15 for children aged 12 and under.
