ShoreLabs SEZC, a Cayman Islands-based technology company focused on supporting founders, has announced the appointment of Jan De Vooght as its new head of growth and partnerships.
De Vooght, the company’s first onshore hire since launching in October, will work directly with ShoreLabs’ clients from Phase 2 (Validation) onwards, when development teams begin building minimum viable products (MVPs).
He will collaborate closely with founders and technical teams to ensure that market needs, client perspectives and go-to-market considerations are integrated into key decisions throughout the build process, Shorelabs said in a press release.
He will also be responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies aimed at generating early traction for client products, even as development is still underway.
“We made a deliberate choice with this hire,” said Anna Muheim, chief executive officer of ShoreLabs.
“Jan does not see clients as the end of the process. He sees them as the beginning. That is exactly the mindset ShoreLabs is built on, and it is why he was the right person to bring on first.”
De Vooght already lives in Grand Cayman, bringing with him regional knowledge and an established network across the Americas and Caribbean, the firm said.
He has more than 25 years of senior leadership experience across the technology, telecom, fintech and industrial sectors, including roles at Agfa and Siemens, as well as the successful sale of his own company to a New York Stock Exchange-listed group.
“I had been looking for an opportunity that could truly match my experience and my values,” said De Vooght.
“I wanted an independent role where I could channel my energy into helping startups succeed, in fintech and technology, alongside people who are serious about what they do and how they do it. ShoreLabs was exactly that.”
ShoreLabs operates within the Cayman Enterprise City Special Economic Zone and works with founders and technology companies across the Americas and Caribbean region.
The company said the appointment marks a continued effort to strengthen its offering to startups by combining technical development with embedded growth expertise.
