Boutique Cayman Islands law firm Priestleys has appointed Leanne Murray as counsel in its real estate and local practice department.
Murray brings over 21 years of post-qualification experience to the role, having previously served as senior partner at Gateley PLC and held leadership roles at DAC Beachcroft and Brabners.
She also previously served as general counsel and director of a major development and construction company in South Wales and was a lead adviser on the 2004 acquisition of Abbey National plc by Banco Santander SA.
In a press release, Priestleys founder Daniel Priestley said the firm is proud to welcome Murray to the real estate and local practice team.
He said: “Her depth of experience in real estate and development law is exceptional, and we are already seeing the positive impact she brings to our clients and our practice.”
At Priestleys, Murray is specialising in real estate and property finance.
Her role includes advising on corporate structures for real estate acquisitions, Cayman’s permanent residency framework, and tokenisation structures using cryptocurrency for property transactions.
“It has always been my dream to work in Cayman as a real estate lawyer, but opportunities are limited. When the chance to join Priestleys arose, I jumped at it,” Murray said.
“Joining a well‑established boutique firm with an exceptional team of specialist lawyers and an outstanding client base is truly a dream come true.”
Priestleys was established in 2007 and provides legal and fiduciary services to local and international clients. Its real estate practice is ranked in both The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.
