Cayman Prep A defeated First Baptist 16-14 on 23 March to capture the KPMG 14 and Under Girls Basketball League championship.
The final was a showcase of talent and determination, with both teams delivering an energetic performance from the opening tip.
A press release from the Cayman Islands Basketball Association said Cayman Prep A executed well on both ends of the floor and maintained composure in key moments to secure the two-point victory.
First Baptist also put forth a strong effort, demonstrating the depth of talent within a league that continues to highlight the growth of youth basketball across the Cayman Islands, it said.
This year’s competition featured 22 public and private school teams.
The association congratulated the champions and commended all participants for a successful season.
KPMG has supported the inter-school basketball league for over 15 years. The partnership has provided opportunities for more than 2,500 students to participate and develop through the sport.
