KPMG in the Cayman Islands has promoted two senior figures within its audit practice, naming Harvey Gowers and Sean Cowan as partners.
Gowers began his career with KPMG in the United Kingdom before relocating to Cayman, where he joined the firm’s insurance practice.
He has since played a key role in the firm’s expansion, particularly within the reinsurance sector and is a regular presence at industry events, including the Captive Conference, KPMG said in a press release.
In 2025, he was named to Captive International’s Forty Under 40 list, highlighting his growing influence within the insurance and captive market.
Internally, he is also involved in audit quality initiatives and is known for his focus on supporting and developing colleagues, KPMG said.
Cowan, meanwhile, brings more than two decades of audit experience to the role. He started his career in Canada and moved to Cayman in 2011, going on to build a long-standing career with KPMG.
During his time with the firm, he has focused on client service and strengthening audit delivery, while also playing a key role in talent development.
KPMG said Cowan has been particularly active in supporting emerging professionals both locally and across its global network, contributing to the firm’s continued growth.
Announcing the promotions, Wanda Mellaneo, country leader at KPMG LLP, said: “These promotions reflect Harvey and Sean’s outstanding contributions to our firm, our clients, and our people.
“Their leadership, dedication and passion for growth exemplify the values that define KPMG in the Cayman Islands and our wider global network.”
