The Ministry of Social Development and Innovation is seeking expressions of interest for appointments to the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD).
It is recruiting for three specific categories – a person with a disability, a representative from an advocacy or service organisation, and a practising attorney-at-law.
Interested individuals must submit a completed expression of interest form and a resume to mofsd@gov.ky by 30 March.
The NCPD was established as a statutory body under the Disabilities (Solomon Webster) Act, 2016.
Its primary functions include advising the government on disability-related matters and monitoring the implementation of the Cayman Islands Disability Policy (2014–2033).
According to the recruitment outline, council members are appointed by the Cabinet.
The selection process includes a review of submissions and an interview by a selection committee.
While most positions are open to the public, public officers are not eligible for these specific vacancies.
The council meets at least once every two months for about two hours. Members are also expected to serve on sub-committees, which follow a similar bimonthly meeting schedule.
The ministry noted that all expressions of interest will be held on file and considered as vacancies arise within the council.
