Motorists in the Cayman Islands now have access to a new vehicle brand following the official launch of Chery by local dealer Arch Automotive.
The Chinese automotive manufacturer made its Cayman debut during the Out of This World Music Festival on 30 May, where members of the public were given the opportunity to view the company’s vehicle line-up.
Founded in 1997, Chery has expanded into more than 130 countries and regions and is recognised as China’s leading passenger vehicle exporter.
The company is known for its range of SUVs and family vehicles, as well as its emphasis on technology and vehicle warranties, Arch Automotive said in a press release.
Selected Chery models sold through the firm will be covered by a 10-year engine warranty, which it said, is one of the longest warranty offerings currently available in the Cayman automotive market.
The dealership said the vehicles are intended to provide drivers with an alternative option in a competitive market, combining modern features with what it describes as value-oriented pricing.
Although the Chery showroom is located in Grand Cayman, Arch Automotive confirmed that vehicles will be available to customers throughout all three Cayman Islands, including delivery options for residents of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.
Taylor Foster, general manager of Arch Automotive, said the company was encouraged by the reception received during the launch event.
“The response was everything we hoped for,” Foster said. “This is a brand that has earned its reputation on a global stage, and we believe Cayman drivers will appreciate what Chery has to offer.”
The full Chery lineup is now available for viewing at the Arch Automotive showroom, with test drives offered by appointment.
