The Cayman Turtle Conservation and Education Centre (CTCEC) has announced the date for this year’s annual Turtle Crawl 5K Walk/Run.
The popular community event will be held on Saturday, 26 April, kicking off at the Cayman Turtle Centre in West Bay.
Walkers will leave at 6am and runners at 6:30am, before taking a route along Northwest Point Road toward West Bay Beach before heading back to the centre.
The event brings together families, fitness enthusiasts and conservation supporters for a morning focused on wellness and the Cayman Islands’ natural heritage, the centre said in a press release.

Proceeds will support CTCEC’s conservation programmes, including the release of green sea turtles, environmental education initiatives, scientific collaboration and veterinary care for animals housed at the facility.
This year’s Turtle Crawl is presented by the Ministry of Health, Environment and Sustainability.
Additional confirmed sponsors include Double M Distribution, Coca-Cola, High Impact, Bluewater Medical, Yani’s Photography, Flow, Health City, Gatorade, Corporate Electric and Oasis Medical Group.
Tiffany Dixon-Ebanks, CTCEC’s chief marketing and merchandising officer, said: “I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to our Turtle Crawl committee members.
“These individuals on our staff volunteer beyond their regular duties to plan, coordinate, and prepare for this event.”
With strong early interest from the community and backing from local partners, organisers expect this year’s race to be one of the largest to date.
Individuals, families, running clubs and corporate teams are encouraged to register early at turtlecrawl.ky
