More than 130 people took part in the Cayman Islands’ first-ever Heritage Hunt.
The scavenger hunt event, held on 21 June, saw 32 teams navigate National Trust sites across Grand Cayman.
They solved riddles, clues and team challenges that revealed stories and significance behind each location to make their way to the finish line at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park.

It culminated in a lively gathering, where teams were recognised for how well they did in the hunt as well as their creativity, cultural expression and community spirit.
The event was organised by the Chamber of Commerce’s latest Leadership Cayman cohort, in partnership with the National Trust.
Leadership Cayman member and co-lead of the project, Geneve Phillip-Durham, told Cayman Independent: “We are immensely grateful to our sponsors, volunteers and local vendors for making the day festive, educational and inclusive.
“Events like the Heritage Hunt underscore the value of community-led public education initiatives, and we encourage continued engagement with the National Trust and its work.”
As well as offering the community a chance to get together and have fun, the Heritage Hunt was designed to deepen the public’s appreciation for Cayman’s cultural and environmental heritage.
The winning team was awarded $1,350 cash and National Trust memberships, while those who came second and third received smaller cash prizes and Trust memberships.
