The environmental charity is an official partner of the event, held on St Kitts and Nevis between 25 to 30 May, and will be represented by two of its youth ambassadors.
GSIS offers island nations across the world the opportunity to collaborate on the most pressing environmental challenges.
The four main areas of focus will be:
- Water sustainability and energy nexus
- Agricultural resilience and climate adaptation
- Climate/health interactions
- Geothermal energy and renewable transitions
The summit will also mark the rollout of St Kitts and Nevis’s Sustainable Island State Agenda.
This framework was set by Prime Minister Terrance Drew and designed to guide the federation towards a sustainable future by 2040.
Sustainable Cayman is sending two of its 2025 Cayman Sustainability Youth Ambassadors, Leanni Tibbetts and Dani Seales to the event.
The non-profit organisation said the two passionate young leaders will engage in knowledge exchange and amplify local perspectives.
The aim is that they “return home empowered with ideas and networks to help shape a more sustainable future”, it added.
