Food trucks must be removed from their locations at the end of every day to remain exempt from planning permission requirements, according to the Central Planning Authority.
Members determined that daily removal represents the threshold for exempting mobile food vendors from standard development approval processes.
During its meeting on 14 May, the authority also resolved to issue maintenance notices for properties storing derelict vehicles under the Development and Planning Act (2021 Revision).
In a case involving Eugene Lennon Christian, Eduard Louis Scott-Redondo, Alice Denice Ebanks and Pauline Rosaline James on Block 1D Parcel 524, the authority viewed photographs of derelict vehicles before determining that a maintenance notice should be issued.
The notices will require property owners to comply within 60 days of when orders take effect, following a 30-day period from service of initial notification.
The authority also closed an enforcement case involving Steadman Roach after reviewing updated photographs confirming compliance with previous maintenance notice terms.
Meanwhile, members approved Glove Holdings’ application for a two-lot subdivision off Willie Farrington Drive in West Bay, despite the proposed lots measuring only 970 to 2,915 square feet – well below the 10,000 square foot minimum requirement.
The approval requires proposed Lot 1 to be combined with Block 5C Parcel 456 and Lot 2 to be combined with Block 5C Parcel 47 to meet regulatory standards.
Standard conditions prohibit land clearing, excavation, filling or development of subdivided parcels without separate planning permission, whilst requiring final surveyor drawings to include all required easements before registration.
The Department of Environment confirmed no environmental concerns with the subdivision, noting the sites had been previously disturbed and were of limited ecological value.
The National Roads Authority and Water Authority raised no objections to the boundary adjustments, with future development subject to appropriate infrastructure requirements when specific proposals are submitted.
