The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA)’s newly appointed board of directors has held its first meeting.
The orientation session took place at the CIAA’s conference room on Thursday, 23 October.
The board was appointed under the portfolio of the Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure.
It will provide governance oversight and strategic leadership to guide the continued development and efficient operation of the CIAA and Cayman’s international airports.
Chief executive officer Albert Anderson said he is honoured to welcome the new and returning board members and looks forward to working together under their guidance.
“Their combined expertise in aviation, government, business and community leadership will ensure the continued growth and excellence of our airports,” he said.
According to a press release on 31 October, newly appointed chair Olson Anderson brings extensive aviation and executive experience to the role.
He will offer strategic vision to guide the authority through its next phase of growth and infrastructure enhancement.
Alfred Thompson Junior, who continues to serve as deputy chair, brings commercial insight and local business leadership, while Lesli Tathum has also been retained as a director.
The new directors are Jennie Pacheco, Marcus Cumber, and Donnie Dixon.
The ministry’s chief officer Eric Bush continues to sit on the board as does Bruce Smith, Customs and Border Control representative.
Minister Jay Ebanks said the board represents a “diverse and experienced team of Caymanian leaders”.
He said they will support the CIAA’s mission to provide safe, efficient and customer-focused airport services that strengthen Cayman’s position as a leading destination in the region.
