More than 1,000 people attended the fifth annual Cayman Islands Margarita Festival, which brought cocktails, food and live entertainment to Seven Mile Beach.
The festival, on Saturday, 25 July, featured the Margarita Masters competition, with mixologists competing to create the event’s winning margarita.
Riyad Karbia of Lobster Pot took this year’s title with his cocktail, Escape to the Tropics, after festivalgoers voted for their favourite creation.
The event also featured a food court serving tacos, street food and Mexican-inspired dishes, alongside bars offering classic and contemporary margaritas.
Live entertainment included a headline performance from UK DJ Sigala, as well as island entertainment and brand activations.
Organisers Premier Productions had introduced several changes to this year’s festival following feedback from previous events, including pre-batched competition margaritas served from dedicated pour-and-go stations.

A Premier Productions spokesperson told Cayman Independent they were “incredibly pleased” with how this year’s festival came together.
“Celebrating five years was a major milestone for us, and it was fantastic to see the turnout and the response to the competition, food and entertainment,” they added.
“What makes the margarita competition particularly special is that the patrons themselves choose the winner, and this year Riyad Karbia of Lobster Pot took the title with Escape to the Tropics.
“We’re grateful to everyone who attended and to all of our competitors, vendors, sponsors, partners and team who helped make the fifth anniversary such a success.”
