Inspired Education Group has entered the Cayman Islands market with the acquisition of Island Primary and Island Montessori in Grand Cayman, adding the two schools to its global network of more than 125 schools.
The deal marks a further expansion into the Caribbean for the education group, which serves more than 95,000 students across six continents.
Island Primary opened in 2023 and provides education from reception through Year 6. The school delivers a British curriculum adapted to the local environment.
The acquisition also includes Island Montessori, which focuses on early years education through the Montessori approach, according to a press release on 5 June.
Inspired said students and families at both schools will gain access to programmes and opportunities available across its international network, including student exchanges, collaborative projects, and summer and winter programmes.
The company said the schools will continue operating under their existing names and maintain their local identity while becoming part of the wider group.
Nadim Nsouli, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Inspired Education Group, said the Cayman schools aligned with the organisation’s approach to education.
“We are delighted to welcome Island Primary and Island Montessori to Inspired. The school’s strong sense of community, innovative approach to learning, and commitment to excellence make it a natural fit for our global group.
“We look forward to supporting its continued growth and providing students with access to the outstanding opportunities that come from being part of the Inspired family.”
The acquisition gives Inspired its first presence in the Cayman Islands and expands its footprint in a region where international education providers have continued to increase their presence.
Jennifer Cowdroy, founder of Island Primary and Island Montessori, said the partnership would allow the schools to broaden opportunities available to students, families and staff.
“Joining Inspired marks an exciting new chapter for our school. From the beginning, our vision has been to create a school that reflects the spirit of the Cayman Islands while preparing students to thrive in a global world.”
“Through this partnership, we can build on our strengths and offer even greater opportunities for our students, families, and staff,” Cowdroy said.
Inspired said the schools would retain their existing educational approach and local roots while benefiting from the group’s international resources and specialist expertise.
The company said the arrangement would allow the schools to combine their Cayman focus with access to educational programmes and practices drawn from across Inspired’s worldwide network.
