A representative from the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA) travelled to London to take part in a global forum focused on the future of accountancy education.
Marilyn Layne, CIIPA’s director of education and training, attended the Accountancy Education Directors Forum hosted by the Association of Accounting Technicians as part of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) London Education Week this month.

The forum brought together professional bodies, educators and industry leaders from around the world to discuss key issues shaping the profession.
Topics included strengthening professional development pathways, improving the appeal of accountancy careers, and ensuring accountants are equipped with the skills required in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
CIIPA said its participation reflects a commitment to staying connected with international developments and ensuring that education and training in Cayman remains aligned with global best practices.
“Attending the International Federation of Accountants’ Education Directors Forum provided a valuable opportunity to engage with members from across the global profession on the future of accountancy education,” Layne told Cayman Independent.
“These discussions are important in ensuring that our programmes remain aligned with international standards and we continue to meet the evolving needs of the profession.”
