The Cayman Motoring Federation has been nominated for the FIA National Motorsport Achievement Award, recognising the work of national sporting authorities within the FIA network.
In a LinkedIn post, the federation stated the nomination reflects the collective efforts of the local motorsport community in developing and promoting the sport.
“This nomination is a reflection of YOU – our members, volunteers, partners, drivers, students, and community supporters – who have believed in our mission from day one,” the post said.
The federation highlighted initiatives including the introduction of STEM Racing to schools, expansion of grassroots motorsport through autocross and Sim racing, and efforts to amplify its presence across the Cayman Islands and internationally.
The federation received full recognition from the FIA in December 2024, granting it authority to oversee sanctioned motorsport and mobility activities locally and represent Cayman on the global stage.
The Cayman Motoring Federation has expanded its activities across education, grassroots events and international engagement within the islands this year.
It has introduced STEM Racing programmes supporting student engagement in science and engineering at schools on Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac.
At the grassroots level, the federation hosted multiple FIA Motorsport-in-a-Box autocross events, transforming everyday spaces into structured driver skill activities.
In road safety efforts, it completed its second FIA Smart Driving Challenge, promoting safer and more sustainable driving habits among local motorists.
