The Department of Lands and Survey has announced a comprehensive digital upgrade to the Cayman Land Info platform, scheduled to go live on 23 February.
The initiative aims to modernise land information services by improving user experience and expanding digital functionality for both the public and professional sectors.
The upgrade introduces a refreshed site layout featuring cleaner menus and smoother navigation to simplify access to frequently used tools.
Key improvements that were announced in a LinkedIn post to the platform’s core services include:
- Land registry manuals: Updated guidance documents have been streamlined to be easier to find and use.
- Online map requests: The workflow for map requests has been revised for a clearer, more intuitive flow.
- Transparency tools: Accessibility has been improved for Freedom of Information (FOI) pages.
A central feature of the digital upgrade is the enhancement of the Caymap subscription service.
The next-generation tool now includes integrated 3D capability, providing users with a more sophisticated way to interact with geographical data.
Officials noted that additional features for the subscription service are expected to be released following the initial launch.
The project is a joint initiative between the Department of Lands and Survey and the Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure.
According to the department, the launch reflects a continued commitment to improving digital access to critical land information in the Cayman Islands.
