Fabian Whorms, president and chief executive officer of Cayman Airways Limited (CAL), will retire in December, following 31 years of service to the national airline.
Whorms joined Cayman Airways in 1995 and served as president and CEO from 2009, making him the longest-serving CEO in Cayman Airways’ history.
In a press release on 29 September, David Ritch, chair of the Cayman Airways board of directors, expressed the board’s appreciation for Whorms’ longstanding service.
“His dedication and leadership have made a lasting contribution to the national airline and to the Cayman Islands,” he said.
“We congratulate him on an extraordinary 43-year career in aviation and wish him and his family every happiness in his retirement.”
The board will provide further information regarding the leadership transition in due course, the press release said.
Cayman Airways Limited is the national flag carrier of the Cayman Islands, operating scheduled passenger services across the Caribbean and to destinations in the United States.
