The Blockchain Association of the Cayman Islands (BACI) is hosting a free event to introduce young Caymanians, students and junior professionals to career opportunities in blockchain and artificial intelligence.
Called ‘BACI NextGen: Fall into blockchain’, the event on 22 October will feature two panel discussions at Cayman Enterprise City’s Signal House in George Town, with opportunities for attendees to ask questions and network with industry professionals.
The first panel, ‘Blockchain services 101’, will run from 4pm to 4:50pm and explore careers beyond software development, including roles for lawyers, accountants and administrators who support blockchain projects.
After a short break, a second panel, ‘AI and blockchain: Navigating a career in these new frontiers’, will run from 5pm to 5:50pm. It will examine how the two technologies are changing early-career opportunities.
Both sessions will include audience question-and-answer segments, followed by networking and closing remarks from 5:50pm to 7pm.
BACI’s head of growth Gladston Huffington described the event as “a relaxed and welcoming introduction to blockchain and the careers surrounding it here in Cayman”.
“No prior experience is needed, and attendees will leave with a clear sense of which roles exist around blockchain in Cayman and one practical next step they can take,” he told Cayman Independent.
The event is being organised by BACI in partnership with the GSR Foundation and Cayman Enterprise City.
Attendance is free, but registration is required and subject to approval by the organisers. More information and registration is available here.
