A series of community crime prevention workshops are taking place throughout the Cayman Islands to address social challenges and promote youth development.
They are being hosted by the Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium, in collaboration with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS).
The workshops began earlier this month and are scheduled to continue in various districts.
Each workshop comprises two sessions: ‘Everyone’s an asset builder’ and ‘Sharing the asset message’.
These sessions focus on identifying risk factors within communities, schools, and families, and emphasise the importance of building assets in young people.
The aim is to encourage positive development and reduce the likelihood of engaging in problematic behaviours.
The initiative is supported by the Department of Children and Family Services, local members of parliament, and community members.
It aims to create an asset-building culture and contribute to the healthy development of young people across the Cayman Islands.
