Walkers welcomes eight students to legal internship programme

Law firm Walkers has welcomed eight students to its Cayman Islands office as part of its annual legal internship programme.

The three-week scheme gives interns the opportunity to gain practical experience in the legal profession and learn more about potential career paths within the industry.

The 2026 summer interns are Amrita Rajkumarsingh, Kristian Espinal-Duarte, Saraia Moore, Lorlie Bryan-Smith, Sanaa Archer, Brian McLean, Asia Carter and Matthew Reddyhough.

Each intern is assigned to a practice group, where they work alongside dedicated supervisors. They also have the opportunity to meet colleagues across the firm’s legal and business services teams.

Peter Kendall, partner in Walkers’ insolvency and dispute resolution team and chair of the Trainee Committee, said developing future legal talent remained an important part of the firm’s commitment to the local community.

“Through the internship programme, students have the opportunity to work alongside experienced lawyers, gain exposure to a variety of practice areas and better understand the many career paths available within the legal profession,” he said in a press release.

Walkers said its internship programme forms part of the firm’s wider commitment to developing future legal talent, alongside its scholarship and professional training programmes.
