The Watermark has begun welcoming residents, marking the completion of a 51-unit residential development on Seven Mile Beach.
The project was developed by Watermark Limited under the leadership of Cayman developer Fraser Wellon and includes a mix of residences and penthouses.
The start of occupancy brings one of the newest large-scale residential developments to Cayman’s beachfront property market.
Unlike many condominium projects, The Watermark was designed around a hospitality-focused operating model that combines private ownership with services typically associated with luxury resorts.
Residents have access to concierge and butler services, private dining facilities, an oceanfront owners’ lounge, a library lounge, boardroom, cinema and fitness facilities.
The development also includes Meraki Wellness, a 16,000-square-foot facility founded by Shula and Peter Clarke.
According to the developer, the wellness centre forms part of the property’s broader residential offering through wellness programming, treatments, recovery services and a membership structure for residents.
Wellon said the project was designed to integrate residential living, hospitality and wellness services.
“It has been a true privilege for The Watermark’s core team to bring The Watermark to life,” developer Fraser Wellon in a press release.
“Opportunities to create something of this calibre — where design, location, hospitality and lifestyle integrate so seamlessly — are exceptionally rare. From the outset, our ambition was to create a property that would stand among the most desirable and globally competitive residential addresses in the Caribbean.”
The architectural design was led by Miami-based RAD Architecture in partnership with Cayman-based MJM Design Studio.
Construction was carried out by Arch & Godfrey.
The project team also included Holly Wellon, who led marketing, branding and client relations, and Steve Henderson, who oversaw financial management and project operations.
Engineering responsibilities were led by Martin Caulet and Marty Tammemagi.
Wellon said the inclusion of Meraki Wellness was a key element of the development’s concept.
“The inclusion of Meraki was fundamental to how we defined the project,” Wellon added.
“Working alongside Shula and Peter allowed us to create something that feels deeply intentional, highly personalized and entirely authentic. The membership structure plays an important role in preserving the integrity of that experience — it is not simply an amenity, but part of the identity of the property itself.”
The completion of the project adds another residential property to Seven Mile Beach, one of the Cayman Islands’ most active corridors for high-end residential development.
