The Health Services Authority (HSA) has appointed former Cayman Islands Government finance chief David van Duynhoven as senior chief financial officer.
Van Duynhoven brings more than 25 years of financial and operational leadership experience in the public and private sectors, including his previous role as senior chief financial officer for the Cayman Islands Government.
He will oversee strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, financial reporting and organisational processes, while the existing finance team continues to manage day-to-day operations.
In a press release on 29 May, HSA chief executive officer Lizzette Yearwood said the appointment reflects the authority’s commitment to investing in leadership and systems.
“As healthcare systems develop, it is vital that we continuously improve the structures that support patient care,” Yearwood said.
The HSA finance team will continue to manage daily operations while van Duynhoven focuses on high-level process improvements across the organisation,
Van Duynhoven said: “I look forward to helping to optimise the systems and processes that support informed decision-making.
“HSA has a highly capable team, and together, we will ensure the organisation’s structures are as resilient and effective as the care we provide.”
