The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) has opened applications for its annual undergraduate internship programme.
The initiative offers Caymanian students and those holding Caymanian status or permanent residency hands-on experience with the islands’ primary financial regulator.
The two-month paid internship provides participants with practical exposure across CIMA’s supervisory and operational divisions, a press release said on 10 February.
“At CIMA, we are deeply committed to investing in the future of young Caymanians,” said Cindy Scotland, OBE, chief executive officer of CIMA.
“This internship programme is not just about developing technical skills; it is about nurturing ambition, fostering professional growth, and instilling the confidence to succeed.
“The Cayman Islands has a thriving financial sector, and it is crucial that we prepare our young people to take on key roles within it.”
Interns will work closely with senior leaders, gaining a well-rounded understanding of the organisation’s operations and Cayman’s regulatory framework.
Exceptional performers may be considered for full-time employment opportunities within the authority.
To be eligible, applicants must be between 16 and 26 years old and be currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or enrolled in the final year of high school.
Applications close on 7 March at 5pm. The authority encourages eligible students to submit promptly for consideration via the CIMA careers portal at cima.ky/careers
