The Cayman Motoring Federation (CMF) held its final autocross event of the year, with one of the group’s strongest turn outs so far.
Nine drivers competed on 16 November across three categories: Heavy/EV, Medium Power/Saloons, and High Power/Exotic, showcasing skill, control and motorsport passion on the autocross course, CMF said in a press release.

First place in the Heavy/EV category went to Rory Scheepers in an Audi Q3, first place in the Medium Power/Saloons category was James Taggart in a Porsche Boxster, and first place in the High Power/Exotic category was Adis Kevorkian in a VW GTI.
A CMF spokesperson said: “Autocross is more than a competitive motorsport – it’s an important contributor to road safety in the Cayman Islands.
“By giving drivers a controlled, supervised environment to test vehicle handling, braking, and manoeuvring skills, CMF helps participants become more aware, confident and responsible behind the wheel.”
CMF said that in alignment with its commitment to sustainability and its FIA Environmental Accreditation efforts, the event, at Foster’s Parking Lot in George Town, incorporated several eco-conscious practices.

These included reducing paper usage through digital timing sheets and registrations, encouraging ridesharing among participants, and reusing event equipment such as cones, timers and tires.
CMF also partnered with Refuel Cayman to conduct a sustainability survey, offering CI$25 Refuel fuel gift cards as incentives to engage the community in greener event practices.
The federation plans to hold six autocross events in 2026, with a structured league component that will allow drivers to accumulate points throughout the year.
It is also exploring the introduction of karting elements to enhance driver development and provide new opportunities for motorsport participation across all ages.
