The Cayman Islands’ third annual ageing forum will bring together seniors, families, caregivers and professionals to discuss issues related to getting older.
The free event, organised by the Council of Older Persons, will take place on 26 September at Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman under the theme ‘Ageing well, together’.
Registration, lunch and networking will begin at noon, with the forum starting at 1pm and running until 7pm.
Roy Bodden, historian and former speaker of the Cayman Islands Legislative Assembly, will be the keynote speaker.
The forum will focus on topics including healthy and active ageing, planning for the future, safety and protection, and available services and resources.
The event is also intended to provide guidance for people approaching retirement, as well as those caring for older family members or planning for their own later years.
Attendees will be able to hear from speakers, ask questions, connect with organisations and service providers and learn about resources available to support the independence, dignity and wellbeing of older persons.
Although the event is free, registration is required as spaces are limited.
People can register through gov.ky/opc or reserve a space by sending a WhatsApp message to (345) 329-5000.
