Economics and Statistics Office launches occupational wage survey

The Economics and Statistics Office (ESO) has begun collecting employment and salary data from Cayman Islands businesses and government departments as part of its 2026 Occupational Wage Survey.

The survey, which began on 8 October, gathers information on pay and benefits, employee qualifications, immigration status, skills, working hours and types of employment.

The data is used to compile a comprehensive employment and compensation database every two years, allowing employers and employees in the public and private sectors to review remuneration within their industries.

The database will also help assess the distribution of occupations by immigration status across industries, estimate labour costs by occupation and industry, and analyse employee productivity.

In a press release, the ESO said participation in the survey did not require businesses to identify employees by name.

Individual returns will remain confidential and will not be shared with parties outside the ESO, in accordance with Section 8 of the Statistics Act (2016 Revision).

Only aggregated data will be published.

Businesses and government departments can complete the survey using paper forms or electronically, by downloading Excel spreadsheets or fillable PDF forms from the ESO website at eso.ky

More information is available from the ESO on (345) 516-3329 or 949-0940.
