Ghosts, folklore and personal truths are woven together in Cayman Drama Society’s current production.
‘When Darkness Falls’, which opened on 28 February and runs until 14 March, is set on a stormy night in Guernsey and inspired by true events.
It follows a paranormal expert and a skeptical history teacher who team up to record a podcast, only to confront unsettling mysteries that blur past and present.
The play, which made its debut at the Park Theatre in London in August 2021, is directed by Paul de Freitas and Erica Ebanks.
“Enjoy a night of terrifying storytelling. Acclaimed by patrons, first in the UK and now in Cayman, When Darkness Falls by James Milton and Paul Morrissey, is a story within a story about stories. Confusing!” de Freitas told Cayman Independent.

“We hope that we achieve our objective for the evening – to leave our audience a bit shaken.”
Haidee Elise, artistic director and head of drama training, said they’d had “outstanding feedback” from audiences so far.
She added: “It’s a true team effort – flawless backstage precision paired with two compelling performances that draw the audience into an immersive journey.
“Thoughtfully explored and carefully crafted, the result is a gripping theatrical experience.”
Members of Caystage, Cayman Drama Society’s classes for teenagers, and its adult acting classes had the chance to audition for voiceover roles of the Para-Psychologist and Young Boy.
“Through focused workshops and a full audition process, they gained hands-on experience in a complete 360-degree learning journey,” Elise explained.
The upcoming shows are on 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 March at The Prospect Playhouse in Grand Cayman. Tickets can be bought here.
