Cayman Turtle Conservation and Education Centre will mark 20 years at its current location in West Bay this September, with a month of anniversary offers for visitors.
The centre, which traces its history back to 1968 and was formerly named the Cayman Turtle Farm, moved to its current home in West Bay in 2006.
It has expanded from a turtle meat farming facility to also include a conservation and education park featuring interactive exhibits, wildlife encounters and recreational attractions.
Visitors can learn about the life cycle of sea turtles, encounter local wildlife, feed birds in the aviary and use the centre’s swimming pool, the centre said in a press release.
Throughout September, the centre will offer 20% off a range of experiences and products, including admission, the SeaTrek underwater helmet dive and Keeper for a Day experience.
The discount will also apply to restaurant specials, gift cards, selected gift shop merchandise, venue fees for events and 7oz soft-serve ice cream.
Tiffany Dixon-Ebanks, chief marketing and merchandising officer, said the anniversary promotions were intended to encourage people to rediscover the centre while supporting its wider conservation mission.
“We invite everyone to enjoy these specials, create unforgettable memories with family and friends, and support our mission of conservation, education, and community engagement,” she added.
She said the anniversary was also an opportunity to recognise its place in the memories of generations of Cayman residents and visitors.
“As we celebrate 20 years at our current home, we are also celebrating the people who have been part of our journey.
“Many residents have grown up visiting the centre and are now bringing their own children and grandchildren to experience it. That sense of connection to our community is something we are incredibly proud of.”
The anniversary offers run from 1 to 30 September.
